This is a large amethyst skull, hand-carved here in Brazil by one of our carvers known for a raw, powerful style. It mixes dark transparent amethyst with lighter, more opaque lavender, and a line of red hematite inclusions runs across the face. At 1.23 kg it has real weight in the hands, and like a lot of amethyst at this depth, it feels much stronger in person than on camera.

This large amethyst skull is one of the more characterful purple pieces we have had in lately. The stone is not a single even tone, it moves between dark, transparent amethyst and softer, milky lavender. It has some transparent patches where light passes straight through, sitting right next to cloudier, more opaque zones. That mix is part of what makes it interesting to look at from different angles.
The detail most people notice first is the band of red hematite inclusions running across the face, around the eye and cheek area. It reads as a warm reddish-brown line against the purple, and it is a natural feature of the stone, not something added. Inside the body of the skull there are veils and faint feathers, the usual internal life you see in natural amethyst, with a few brighter clear sections toward the front.
The carving is done in a raw, powerful style. The carver we work with for these is known for it. The brow is strong, and the cheek and jaw lines are defined rather than smoothed away. It is polished, but the shaping keeps a rugged, hand-worked feel instead of a soft, rounded finish. If you like amethyst skulls that look a little more grounded and less delicate, this is exactly that.
On the energetic side, amethyst is the stone people reach for around calm, intuition, and meditation. With this one, the heavier raw carving and that hematite line give it a steadier, less airy feel than a lot of polished amethyst, so it sits well as a quiet meditation or display piece rather than something purely pretty.
