Amethyst Crystal Skull with Rainbows

What sets this amethyst crystal skull apart is hidden inside the stone. Turn it under direct light and tiny rainbows flash from several points within the amethyst. The skull was hand-carved in Brazil from a single piece of natural Brazilian amethyst. The base tone is a translucent lavender with soft white veils running through the interior [verify against photos: zoning, veil placement, anything else visible]. Because the stone is translucent rather than opaque, light passes deep into the carving, which is exactly what makes the rainbows visible in the first place. In a dark, evenly saturated amethyst, features like these would stay buried.
